Excerpt From This Debut Book

By remembering, I hope to show that what is similar across cultures stands out just as much as their uniqueness.

Due to political circumstances that culminated in a coup d’etat, we left Africa and our life briefly segued back to France before a decision was made to pursue opportunities in the Anglo- Saxon world. Our sights turned to England. By the time I arrived in England, family in tow, my cooking had evolved with American, French, and West and North African flavors. Those learned cooking styles somehow comfortably began to find each other and to blossom. My kitchen practices came to reflect what I took as the best of my accumulated experiences, my keys to success in the kitchen.

Always Enough A Global Food Memoir Book Cover by Annette Anthony

About

Annette Anthony resides in England and is a graduate of Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service, and Columbia Law School. A Philadelphia native, she grew up around the U.S. as part of a military family and, over the past three decades, has lived outside of the U.S. in Europe and Africa and traveled further afield. An intrepid home chef, she is passionate about the power of food to represent our personal odysseys and history, connect cultures, and enrich our lives. At the intersection of foods and cultures there is Always Enough. Annette shares recipes that are an amalgam of her versions of the wonderful foods and dishes enjoyed by family and friends throughout her travels, and equally a catalyst for gathering.

Annette is a Voices of Our Nation Arts (VONA) Foundation Fellow and Hedgebrook Master Class alumna.

Always Enough, A Global Food Memoir, her first book, is available to order.
